NICU Journey and Birth – Fort Collins, CO

Unlike most of my posts about travel, weddings and venue tips. This one is personal. This year I got pregnant with our second daughter and had her all within the same year: two months in advanced at 31 weeks. Nothing can prepare you for having a NICU baby. The journey, the emotions and more. Its unlike any birth story you hear. C section sure, natural birth (sure), NICU (no one wants to be there, but thats how Arianna came into this world)

Dec 3rd mid afternoon I was admitted to PVHS Poudre Valley Hospital due to Pre Eclampsia – big word saying my body didn’t like being pregnant any more

Dec 4th Arianna’s heart started falling off the chart and I was sent back for an emergency C section, with in 10 min she was born.

No cries

No congratulations

Just the words, “its out”

I am not much for words and this isn’t a detailed story about my daughters birth, but just like all events in our life- some are captured in photos. And those photos speak for itself. You can’t predict how your event will happen, but you can tell a story through the photos. Here is Arianna’s Story
