If you’re getting married, it’s likely that you want to get beautiful engagement photos taken before your big day. The perfect way to do this? Before you get started, though, take a look at these five tips on how to find the perfect outfit for an engagement session so that you can look your best in front of the camera and impress everyone with how much fun you and your future spouse are having together!
Wear Something Comfortable
Your face will give it a way if you choose an outfit that your uncomfortable with. You can still be stylish but comfortable. Take a look, remember you can always add a jacket, scarf or jewelry to it. If you feel comfortable your face will just shine. Now on to colors. Colors and some prints tend to reflect light better so are more flattering than others: whites, reds and blues; earth tones like browns and greens; stripes, polka dots and plaids in lightweight fabrics such as cotton silk blends; solids in heavier fabrics such as tweed wool blend will make you more casual. Look through old issues of bridal magazines for inspiration too!
Your Clothes are Going To Get Dirty
Wedding and engagement sessions are often done in a wide variety of settings, which means your clothes are probably going to get dirty. That’s not necessarily a bad thing; an engagement session is an opportunity to showcase your personality in a fun setting. But if you’re trying to look your best for future wedding pictures, you might want to wear some non-cotton pants and bring a change of clothes.

You’re probably thinking about your clothes for your wedding—which is great! But don’t forget to include accessories in your engagement session outfits. All eyes will be on you and your fiance? as soon as you enter a room, so consider how to best put yourself together.
Choose Comfortable Shoes
A shoot may only last an hour or two, but if you’re planning on exploring a few different locations and walking around, you want to be sure your feet are comfortable. You don’t want to look back at your photos and wish you had worn sneakers instead of those heels! When in doubt, opt for comfort.
Versatility
This might sound strange, but it’s worth investing in clothing that’s both beautiful and versatile. You want your outfit to be something you can wear again and again in a variety of settings—and that looks great. You may have a wedding dress for your wedding day itself, but for an engagement session or casual wedding photos or even family pictures, you want something special but also non-traditional that you can wear over and over again—all while looking fabulous.
