Things to Expect and Know from your Photographer
What are your backup plans in the event you’re late or called away by an emergency?
We always show up early and regardless stay till the wedding is done. But if there is an emergency several assistance and other photographers will show up at your wedding and there will be 100% refund, no questions about it.
What happens if there’s an equipment failure, or some other unforeseen issue?
We have several backups and have extra equipment that we always carry
Do you care Liability insurance?
Can I get all of the points we’ve covered in a written contractual agreement?
Yes, the date isn’t saved until a contract is signed
How long have you been photographing weddings?
We’ve been photographing weddings for several years. Have done over 200 weddings.
Can you provide references?
We have several reviews and notes from happy clients, either in writing or on Wedding Wire or Denver 7 A List.
Can I view some of your albums?
Yes, in person or Online
How do you manage distracted or uncooperative subjects or guests?
With care and easy, as well as making them laugh and gently guiding them to their place. Not every person is trained like a model, we will help place and give everyone direction.
What is your artistic style?
A combination of Photojournalistic style with some traditional poses.
Do we shoot traditional poses or have a more photojournalist approach?
It’s a mixture. Family poses are mainly traditional but when it comes to others they are more photojournalistic and fun.
Do we like to shoot in the studio or at different locations, as well as on the wedding day?
We like to shoot in different locations outside; we prefer the natural light in comparison to the artificial light.
Can I see examples of an entire wedding day shoot to see how you might tell a wedding day “story”?
There are several examples on the website or on the proofing section
Do you print the photos yourself or do you use a professional lab or a consumer hobbyist photofinisher like one of the big box stores?
We send out the prints to professional labs and they take about 1-3 weeks to get back.
What is the maximum amount of time I will wait to see proofs?
We try to have a preview done within 2 weeks and all the proofs done with 4-8 weeks.
Once you select your pictures, how long will it take for final delivery of all printed products?
There are two options, our online viewing/ ordering is very fast it takes a maximum of 2 weeks to get prints back. Albums, take 3-4 weeks.
Will you be working with us or someone else on your staff?
Erik and I will be working with you, unless otherwise stated to use our other staff.
Do we work with an assistant?
Yes, on occasion. But mainly we work as a husband and wife team.
What is the process of reviewing, selecting and editing the final images for the album, enlargements and print sets?
We have an online reviewing process of the albums; we start by selecting images and making up an album design for you. We then place it in AlbumExposure an online viewing where you can make comments and changes. We only allow one set of changes to be done for free and additional ones come with our studio designing fee.
In what format do you deliver the proofs?
What is included in the price?
Engagement shoot, Taxes, Driving cost, Online view/ordering, and whatever the package is decided on, as well as the deposit.
What additional options or products are available and how much extra for those items?
We have Ipads with all your wedding images, and video loaded on them; photo booths; videographer; canvases; and guest books.
Do you use professional-quality cameras capable of capturing great images in all lighting conditions, or do you use consumer-level cameras?
Yes, 4 of them.
Do you have backup equipment if something happens to your camera or lights?
Can I have black-and-white photographs or can you add special effects if I want to?
Do you bring additional lighting equipment if it is needed?
Yes, we have studio equipment
What steps do you take to protect my wedding photographs and how long do you archive them?
I have several online and externals to protect the images and recovery software’s. 8 months I hold on to the raw files and 1 year for the jpegs.
Can I come back in 5 or 10 years and get more photographs or replace my album if something happens to it?
Albums are life-time guarantee, We try to hold on to everyone’s photos for a period of time, but after 2-3 years the online viewing and order will be the only way to access the photos then.
Do you have samples of your work I can see?
Do you have a completed product exactly like we will receive that shows us one wedding from start to finish?
Is this sample from the actual photographer who will be at my wedding or someone else on your staff?
