DIY themed wedding- it was classic and vintage! Amazing wedding.
Here is a little what Jenny (The bride did for the wedding)
Decorations
Center pieces: Hand made using dried branches from my mother’s garden that were painted black and white. Then handmade fabric flowers* were attached to the branches. The vases are made of reclaimed wine and liquor bottles which I cut the tops off of using a wet tile saw and them embellished with decoupage, ribbon and pearl strands. Feathers and pearl branches were added as accents. Marble tiles were reclaimed as well.
Designed and printed table numbers and reserved table signs
Made table number holders out of reclaimed corks
Flower Garland over alter was made from handmade fabric flowers* and ribbon
We were supposed to walk under reclaimed bike forks that were painted black and white and decorated with ribbon, but they got lost in the shuffle
The ring pillow was handmade
Wedding toppers/birds were hand made, custom design (spent hours figuring out the pattern!)
Edited and sized old wedding photos for the guest book table (not out engagement pic though!)
Made guest book box
Made talk bubbles for DIY photo booth.

Me/My dress
My dress was purchased at David’s Bridal, and all black embellishments were added after market, and are as follows;

Black buttons all down the back
Black ribbon across back
Hand made black fabric flowers* on front left
My birdcage veil was made using handmade organza flowers* and Russian lace, black beads for details
My fascinator was made using an ostrich feather, white feathers (not sure of the type, rooster I believe) hand made organza flower* with black beaded details and an alligator clip
Hair pins were made of handmade organza flowers with black bead detail
My necklace was hand beaded and sewn using some new black beads and some reclaimed pearl beads, with ribbon and vintage cameo embellishment
My earrings were made with the same new black beads and reclaimed pearls as was my necklace, hand beaded as well
My bracelet was a mash up of elastic beads from Target and a vintage cameo
My garters were hand made with lace and black elastic, embellished with hand beading and marabou
My shoes were vintage spectator pumps which I brought back to life with elbow grease 🙂
Other items of interest. . .
The shawl Andrea wore during the ceremony was my great great grandmother’s
The rings I wore on my right hand, both the silver ring and the star sapphire belonged to my great grandmother
I designed my own wedding ring, Darvier Jewelers created it for me 🙂
*There were several types of fabric flowers. Some were made from various scraps of black and white fabric donated by friends (A lot of which were scraps from Andrea’s wedding dress), some were made with spooled lace from craft stores, and some were made from fabric petals from the floral department
It should be noted that I had many friends help with a lot of these projects, namely Andrea Kleihege.
